Dr Anne Power

Senior Lecturer in Music Education in the School of Education and convenor of the Honours program, Anne is known for leadership in the field of professional practice. She has an extensive music teaching background and a long service to music Professional Teaching Associations and to the Board of the Professional Teachers' Council. She is regularly invited to present at major Australian and international music education and music education research conferences. Dr Power was part of a UWS team investigating Boys’ Education: Motivation and Engagement for the Department of Education, Science and Training. She was particularly involved in producing the Case Study Report.  She is chair of the Australian and New Zealand Association for Research in Music Education; deputy chair of the NSW Chapter of the Australian Society for Music Education; and Treasurer of the Institute for Education Research. She is editor of the journal Musicworks, the national journal of the Australian National Council of Orff Schulwerk.
