About the Youth Eco Summit

The Youth Eco Summit (opens in a new window) takes place annually at the Newington Armoury in Sydney Olympic Park. Over the last 3 years over 10,000 students from 200 schools took part in this Western Sydney Sustainability Education Group initiative that brought together over 65 organisations to showcase and workshop environmental projects with students, as well as students teaching students. This summit presented opportunities for young people to creatively express what 'sustainability' means for them.

The two-day event is designed to encourage students to adopt sustainable practices in all areas of life. YES comprises of hands-on workshops, seminars, displays and activities for students and their teachers. In person and via video conferencing, students from around the world take part in the annual YES to showcase their sustainability achievements.
